Newspaper Hearts

For a fun, simple Valentine’s project, I cut out pieces of cardboard and newspaper in the shape of hearts. I glued the newspaper onto the cardboard to keep it from falling apart when wet with paint, and then the boys painted it.

Of course Love Bug decided he’d rather paint the cardboard side because “it was just brown” and he wanted to make it look nice. He ended up also doing a second one on newspaper.

It was fun to watch Sweet Pea work. He took a long time on it, really sitting and painting for a while. It’s impressive to see a 2 1/2 year-old able to sit and work on something for so long and not get tired of it. It was like he really had an idea of what he wanted it to look like.

Love Bug’s are the first two, and Sweet Pea’s is the one on the right.

This was an idea I’d gotten here.
