Rolling Pin + Yarn Painting

Sometimes the process is more important than the product.

That’s usually how it goes when Sweet Pea is doing any planned paint project. He generally has more fun creating on the newspaper that I put down to protect the floor than on the paper I’ve put out to paint on. (He especially likes to paint or draw on any faces or pictures in the newspaper.)

We recently did a rolling pin painting project (similar to this one) where I attached yarn to the rolling pin. I set out the rolling pin beside some paint and paper for Sweet Pea to roll it through the paint to create a design (the yarn is supposed to add cool texture) on the paper.

He did a little bit across the paper and then went crazy with doing it on newspaper. So we didn’t end up with a great finished product that I could display, but he seemed to have a lot of fun!
