Slide Painting

We found this cute slide painting activity that was a good way to do a project outside (which is always fun) and to do something totally different.

We taped a large sheet of paper to our outdoor slide and put a trash bag at the bottom to collect the run off. I watered down tempera paint and gave the boys brushes.

The plan was to dip the brushes and then drip the paint onto the paper. It ended up being a little messier than expected. Love Bug didn’t quite get the concept of kneeling down at the top of the slide, just above the paper to get the paint on the paper rather than on the entire slide and me. They ended up doing more dumping of the paint rather than dripping/drizzling it because it was just simply easier that way, but it also was probably more fun for them that way, too!

About Kelly

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two boys and a girl. My Love Bug is 4 and has been doing art projects since just after turning 2. My Sweet Pea is 2 and tries to do everything his brother does. Little Flower is 4 months and has no idea of all the fun she has ahead of her.
