Recycled Material Crafts

Since Earth Day is coming up, here are a few crafts that we’ve done using some recycled materials such as toilet paper rolls and egg cartons.

1. TP Roll Stamping

I cut the bottoms of the rolls into different designs, and then Love Bug used them for a paint stamping activity.

2. TP Roll/Egg Carton Train

This was supposed to be painted, but Love Bug was happy with it the way it was! All it took was half of an egg carton with a toilet paper roll glued onto the first egg space to be the smokestack. And then we stuffed some torn up cotton balls into the roll to be the smoke! (He especially loved the cotton part.)

3. Binoculars (originally found here)

We wrapped construction paper around two toilet paper rolls, glued them together, and then wrapped and stapled another smaller piece of construction paper around the two rolls to hold them together.

Love Bug decorated them with stickers and markers and then got to work searching for things through them!

About Kelly

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two boys and a girl. My Love Bug is 4 and has been doing art projects since just after turning 2. My Sweet Pea is 2 and tries to do everything his brother does. Little Flower is 4 months and has no idea of all the fun she has ahead of her.
