Dr. Seuss Birthday Crafts

We love Dr. Seuss in our house. There are so many great books, and a lot of cute ideas for projects from them. In honor of his birthday, which is coming up next week, here are two that we’ve done so far.

Last year, we did this adorable Thing 1 and Thing 2 craft.

Love Bug painted popsicle sticks red. Then we glued on pompoms for hair. We only had one blue one, so for the other one, we painted a white one blue. Then we glued on cheerio eyes (could also be googly eyes), and I drew the face since he wasn’t able to do it at that point.

This year, we did a One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish craft. I cut out a fishbowl shape, and the plan was for each of the boys to do one handprint (one red and one blue) to make fish. Neither one wanted their hand painted, so Love Bug came up with another idea. He suggested that I cut out some fish to use. So I quickly cut two fish and they painted them red and blue.

They worked together on the red one, and Love Bug did the blue one on his own.

Then they each glued on a googly eye, and Love Bug drew mouths.

The finished product:

About Kelly

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two boys and a girl. My Love Bug is 4 and has been doing art projects since just after turning 2. My Sweet Pea is 2 and tries to do everything his brother does. Little Flower is 4 months and has no idea of all the fun she has ahead of her.
