Keeping Busy Indoors

I’ve been trying to find some unique ideas to keep the boys active and entertained inside while it’s freezing outside. Our boredom jar has been a huge help. These are a few of the fun ideas from there and some other ideas we’ve done recently.

1. Sock Toss: I gave Love Bug a bunch of balled-up socks to toss down the hallway and to see how far he could get them. The first try was actually the farthest.

2. Indoor Bowling: We put soda bottles at the end of the hallway and rolled a ball down to see if we could knock them down.

3. Drumming: We set up a bunch of different drums (pots, boxes, various containers) and used spoons for drumsticks.

4. Igloo/Tent/Cushion House, Etc.: The boys love to build with cushions. Love Bug has been into making cushion houses for a while, but we recently came up with the idea of a tent or igloo. We prop up two cushions and put a big blanket over top. Sweet Pea likes to bring in all the pillows and stuffed animals.

About Kelly

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two boys and a girl. My Love Bug is 4 and has been doing art projects since just after turning 2. My Sweet Pea is 2 and tries to do everything his brother does. Little Flower is 4 months and has no idea of all the fun she has ahead of her.
