Jesse Tree

One thing I really wanted to do with Love Bug this year in addition to our Advent calendar was to make a Jesse Tree (basically a tree with ornaments to represent different people in Jesus’ family/ancestry back through the Old Testament).

I printed out a set of coloring pages with 20 pictures to represent different people and had him color them the week before Advent started. The plan was to make the tree and then have him put one on each day leading up to Christmas, but he was really excited about it and wanted to do them all at once. (And after we were done, he said, “But I wanted to put up one each day!”)

I had cut a tree shape out of a large sheet of paper, and Love Bug and Sweet Pea painted it and colored it with markers together.

As soon as it was dried, LB was eager to glue on the pictures.

Sweet Pea came over and started trying to get the glue on the ornaments, too, but he couldn’t figure that part out.

He was really excited when I let him put a few on the tree.

The finished product:

About Kelly

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two boys and a girl. My Love Bug is 4 and has been doing art projects since just after turning 2. My Sweet Pea is 2 and tries to do everything his brother does. Little Flower is 4 months and has no idea of all the fun she has ahead of her.
