Magic Numbers and Letters

This was such a fun project for Love Bug.

I wrote the alphabet on a paper in white crayon, and then he painted over it with watercolors to make the letters appear. He was so excited each time he found a letter, and he had fun guessing what a letter was going to be when he only had uncovered part of it. At one point he thought he found the Y, but it ended up being something else, but he said, “It’s a lowercase Y! All the others were uppercase!”

He got tired of it before he found the V and Y, but he said, “Let’s do it with another paper!” And he suggested that we use numbers. So I quick made another one with numbers up to 15.

Sometimes he’d get too much watery paint on the paper and I had to dab it off a little before you could really see the letters. He had so much fun watching everything appear, though, and it was so easy to do! I love how they ended up looking and also how he ended up doing totally different color schemes for both.

I found this one and a few other cute ideas here.
