Packing Peanut Projects

First, the boys played with packing peanuts and cups, scooping and pouring. Love Bug said his cup was a snowplow cleaning the white snow. He also pretended they were popcorn popping out of a box. Sweet Pea was picking them up one by one and putting them in a cup and then dumping them back out.

After a few minutes, Love Bug got tired of the game and said, “I want to do another project. I want to paint with these.” So we did this:

I dipped them in paint for Sweet Pea, and he brushed them around the paper a little. He was also really into trying to the paint for the first time ever. Then he tried to eat a paint-covered peanut, so that was the end of his painting.

Love Bug was really methodical and organized, dipping each one in paint and setting it on the paper and then taking them off when he was all done.

I especially like how the top one came out. Part of the peanuts actually stuck in the paint a little, so it gave some of the circles a really cool texture.
