Block Painting

I modified this from a block painting post at Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds (one of my favorite sites – her Facebook page is awesome and has categorized photo albums full of ideas).

We used a few different types of blocks – different sizes of Duplos, alphabet blocks with bumps and ridges on the top, and circle Fisher Price blocks – for stamping across a large sheet of paper. Both boys worked on this, though Love Bug did more than 95% of it while Sweet Pea played with the paint containers.

My favorite design was from the square alphabet blocks with the little dots on top. Some of the blocks weren’t just stamped but also used like a paintbrush, which wasn’t what I’d expected but was nice because it added even another kind of look to it.

About Kelly

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two boys and a girl. My Love Bug is 4 and has been doing art projects since just after turning 2. My Sweet Pea is 2 and tries to do everything his brother does. Little Flower is 4 months and has no idea of all the fun she has ahead of her.
