Chalk Spray

This was fun but not quite as good as expected. I got this idea on this site a while back. I made chalk paint and put it in spray bottles for chalk painting outside. We tried it two ways – for painting on a paper and then for sidewalk chalk.

It was pretty simple to make – cornstarch mixed with hot water, dish detergent, and paint. The only problem was that the paint just wasn’t dark enough, so it came out very light. We tried it on paper first. I didn’t know how that’d work and how chalky it’d be. It was cool when it dried but just too light to really see. It ended up looking like powdered sugar that had dried to the paper. It was fun to just squirt it around outside, too. Love Bug was struggling with getting the hang of the squirt bottles.
