Making Rainbows

Yesterday I shared our rainbow salt tray. Here are a few other rainbow projects we’ve done. It’s always fun to see how the colors will mix up and what will happen when painting with rainbows.

Rainbow Sponge Painting:

I put lines of paint in rainbow order across a sponge, put a paper up on our easel, and let Love Bug paint with the sponge.

Rainbow Footprints:

Sweet Pea’s first art project! I put colorful globs of paint on a newspaper, and let each of the boys step in it with both feet. Then they stepped (or in Sweet Pea’s case, I pressed his feet) onto the paper. Love Bug initially didn’t want to do this until I told him that it’d be his brother’s first project, and then he stepped right in!

Rainbow Color Search:

Earlier this week I took Love Bug to a program at a local children’s museum, and as we walked around outside we were looking for things of different colors. Now he loves doing this all around the house. Finding red things, orange things, etc.

You can find a bunch of other rainbow ideas here at Play Create Explore.
